The Maple Leaf Foundation (MLF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of understanding between Canada and the United States of America.
Each year, in conjunction with the NECBC’s annual Energy Conference, the Maple Leaf Foundation (MLF) organizes the “Maple Leaf Ball” in Boston.
The 2011 Ball was held November 5, 2011 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA.
Fostering educational exchanges between Canada and New England has been a hallmark of the MLF and the Ball. The Ball supports the annual Kenneth R. Rossano Maple Leaf Student Exchange, which brings American students from a Boston public school to various Canadian cities, and Canadian students to Boston.
The 2011 Exchange schools are: Another Course to College High School in Boston, MA and Sydney Academy in Sydney, NS.
In addition, the MLF provides financial support to the Bridgewater State University Canadian Studies program to allow students to study at Canadian universities.
The Killam – Maple Leaf Fellowships, administered by Fulbright, provides Canadian undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one semester in a New England University and their American counterparts to spend one semester in a Canadian University.
